About The Event
Recovering the Lost Art of Mentoring
One of the striking similarities between White and Indigenous communities today is the breakdown of intergenerational relationships. With this in mind, one of the most important opportunities we have in the church is to recover the lost art of mentoring, which Paul encourages in Titus 2:1-8. Ben will share thoughts on why and how we should do this, based on this and other passages as well as his own experience.
Ben Peltz lives in Peterborough, Ontario, alongside his wife Shoshanna and his daughter Aliyah. He has been involved in student and First Nations ministries since 2010. Currently he serves as a chaplain at Trent University, pastors a church in Curve Lake First Nation, and runs camps and other programming for Cree youth in northern Quebec. He has a Bachelor in Political Studies from Trent University and a Masters of Theological Studies and Doctor of Ministry from Tyndale University. His doctoral thesis involved training Cree mentors using collaborative planning and teaching methods.
We invite you to become part of our Sunday Service community each week at The Loft in Bowmanville, ON.
